Mission
Tablet The Kayla GBM Foundation (KGBMF) has been set up to fill the void that exists for Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) foundations. GBM is the most severe form of brain cancer and oddly enough, there are practically no foundations dedicated to raising money to fund its research. We're hoping to change that.

The idea behind KGBMF is to raise money to donate to those who are surviving GBM and also provide funding for GBM related research. In 2007 we donated to both the National Institute of Health and the Reno Cancer Foundation. Both donations were earmarked to be used exclusively for GBM patients and research. Our Finance page outlines in detail how we distribute the generous donations made to our foundation.

Thanks to the donations we receive, progress is already being made in the fight against glioblastoma multiforme. If you'd like to help, please check out our Donations page to see how you can be a part of our battle to rid the world of Glioblastoma Multiforme.
Recent Happenings
nci image On Thursday, December 13th, University of Nevada, Reno staff member, Ginger Fenwick, donated 25 inches of her hair to the Pantene Pro-V Beautiful Lengths program who will then turn it into a wig for donation to cancer patients. Ginger worked with Kayla and knew her well so she contacted us before hand to let us know that she would be making the donation in honor of her.

Members of the foundation were there to thank Ginger and support her in her decision to donate so much of her hair. Normally a full wig takes four ponytail length donations but since Ginger's was so long, she is hoping to account for at least three. We are very greatful for her donation and hope that more girls become aware of the Pantene program and follow in Ginger's footsteps. You can see how good Ginger's new hair looks at our flickr photo page. You can also check out the Reno Gazette-Journal's article or our Recent Happenings for more information on Ginger and her hair donation.
